Aurora Volunteers

Between typhoon Yoyong and Christmas the Batangbaler people managed to formalize a group and incorporate a non-profit organization called Volunteers for Aurora Province, Inc. aka Aurora Volunteers. Under the name, we successfully completed part 2 of our relief operation on December 26, this time with a certified doctor and some instant nurses and pharmacists to set up a one-day clinic at San Isidro, San Luis Aurora one of the worst flooded barangay in Central Aurora. We managed to give medical services to more than 80 persons and give relief foods and used clothings to more than 100 families. We also gave infant products and milks to about 30 kiddies and raffled off 5 blankets or banigs.

Then off we go to Sitio Tirung somewhere in Obligacion, Baler, Aurora. We gave about 100 bags of relief goods, infant and children products, blankets, towels, used shoes and sandals.

We also gave 30 bags of goods to our contact in Pingit for distribution the next day.

Part 3 of our operation will be on December 30 or 31 at Brgy. Villa and Dimani.

  1. Good job guys! but I hope we could send email acknowledging those who reached out to our compatriots in need. Marami po ang nagbigay sa SMART & It would be great if they knew that we are thankful for their generosity, but of course not only Smart kundi sa mas nakararami pa na nagbigay. Not everyone on the list knew of this website, how will they know na they are acknowledged? I further suggest na ipublish natin on that aknowledgement letter yung URL ng batang baler so those who have pc at home can browse.
If I just missed that email, pakiforward na lang po, thanks!

  2. Hey Ivan, that’s in the plan and we’re planning to do that, including giving certificates or letter (not just email since some people are still using snail mail) of appreciation. But we’re still waiting for the project to finish. It’s would be inappropriate if we started sending thank yous to everyone while we’re still in the middle of the operation. Another problem is we don’t have all the email addesses of all the people who donated and contributed. Maybe you can help by sending us the email addresses of all the people who contributed in your company. We appreciate all the help and were very thankful for them.

The thank you list, by the way, is still incomplete and i think we will never really have a complete accounting of those who helped.

  4. Thanks Joseph, now I understand your gantt chart, anyway, sa office, a simple email will do, ipoforwad ku lang naman iyan sa email nila ay. I thought you’re done with the distribution stage.
Please keep us posted for any future plans or anything that we could be of help.

Hi anonymous! Mas maganda pa rin po ang nagpapasalamat afterall the assistance we received from people we don’t know, it’s not about asking to return the favor nor begging for the “plaque of appreciation” but merely giving IMPORTANCE for their support.
If it’s not our trait, then maybe we could start the year adding it up…
