  1. I would like to name the logging companies that were operational in Dingalan, Aurora more or less 20 years back such as: Dingalan Forest Product Corporation (DFPC),Southern Timber Incorporation (SETIC) and ABES Company. DFPC and SETIC are engaged in exporting logs to foreign countries and during those years foreign shipping are docked in the bay area of Paltic, Dingalan for these 2 companies.

Most probably these companies were given permits by the government to operate but within the 20-30 years reforestation requirement. The big problem is the failure of commitment of these companies. Did they comply? If they did problem should have been reduced.
Another important factor is the strong reinforcement of our government law. It used to be Department of Forestry which is now DENR but not much difference as I think. Look what happened in Atimonan, Quezon where the Former Congressman is suspected of illegal logging, this is an example of a delayed reaction of the government. With the huge volume of logs that were cut all over it would be impossible that local officials did not notice that illegal log cutting had been happening, which comes first? the egg or the chicken?

My fellow Aurorans, you can direct the logging issues to the Office of President Arroyo, I have sent my concern and I got a reply. Some people had mentioned the logging companies at the aurora website but it was censored. Let us work together to preserve our forest and the entire environment. More power..
