Governor Bellaflor Angara Castillo is in California with other Central Luzon government officials on a special business and investment mission. So if you’re in California and happen to see her, give her a warm hoot and tell her to bring me next time.
A TEAM of local government officials from the Central Luzon region, north of Manila, is in California on a mission to drum up investment opportunities for American companies, especially in information technology-enabled services.
The weeklong sortie started Sept. 26 and will wrap up on Oct. 4.
Mission head Tomas Joson III, governor of Nueva Ecija province, said in a Sept. 19 letter to Trade and Industry Undersecretary Elmer Hernandez that the Central Luzon Investment Coordinating Council (CLIC) would meet with executives of various US firms.
The CLIC team also includes Governor Josefina de la Cruz of Bulacan province, Govenor Bellaflor Angara-Castillo of Aurora province, and representatives of the provinces of Zambales and Pampanga.
Storm chasing is a legitimate profession in some countries. Although it’s still not one of those “pogi” hobbies in the country, some of us knows the concept of chasing typhoons but we’re more acquainted with running away from them. That’s what I did yesterday. I went home to run away from Milenyo. It was signal no. 3 in Manila when I rode the 5-star bus from Cubao to Cabanatuan. Luckily, the way home especially from Cabanatuan to Baler via Genesis went off smoothly. Just heavy clouds and occasional rains along the way. It’s not even raining when I arrived home. In Manila, it was a different story. I’m glad I decided to “get lucky”. Another day in rainy Manila would be boring. I’m allergic to the city. The sun is shining today here in Baler but the electricity is out since yesterday evening.
Thanks to Metz and Lotus for adopting me for three days. Their daughter Ranja is now talking, well, in her own 16-month old way.
Akaw! I’m here in Manila on some official and unofficial businesses. I’m posting this from Netopia @ Market! Market. I’m with Metz. The netopia computers only have Internet Explorer. I just found out that Batangbaler viewed on IE sucks. I optimized the blog for Firefox so if you want to see this blog the way i intended it to look, download Firefox, install it and use it.
I also attended the first Philippine Blogcon. I got to see lots of Pinoy bloggers in real life. I’ll post more about it when i get back to Baler. O sige! More when i get back to base.
Kamalig – kanlungan ng mga pangarap at panata ng batch 11 ng aurora national science high school.
I’m Batch 2, one of the prototypes. I didn’t have a “kamalig” experience but my four years of high school in Baler Central School is also memorable and should also be blogged. How about a coop blog for all the ANSHS batches? Post your comments here.

T-Sert Ku Series. Check-out this blog. The owner prints and sells Baler-inspired tshirts. The designs are pure Ak-kaw.
This is a free advertisement but i would not mind a free piece of black shirt with the design shown here. Looks like a good partner for my Pwera Katid shirt.
This blogspot is created to provide a venue for mga tiga aurora or may dugong aurora to express their creativity or promote everything that they like about aurora using t-sert as a medium. the idea is “concept mu idedesign at itatak ku” or “design mu itatak ku” for a minimal fee bearing in mind the peculiar characteristics of silk screen printing, the materials available and the capacity of the printer to transfer your design from the stencil or negative draft to the t-sert.
If you’re a new Batang Baler visitor and haven’t encountered it’s early incarnation, you might want to check out the old photo gallery. It’s a collection of photos taken from 2000 to 2002 with instamatic camera and a used-to-be high-tech Sony Mavica FD7 that uses a floppy disk for storage and captures an amazing 1 megapixel digital image.
