Dipaculao Theater Workshop

Dipaculao - Theater Workshop

The other weekend (October 13-15), I was at the Father John Karash Memorial High School to document a theater workshop organized by the school principal, Mr. Jimmy Peñamante. It was a 3-day gig with more than thirty participating high school students from FJKHMS, MCC-Baler, and 2 college students from ASCOT. The trainor was Rommel Espinosa or Metz. Metz used to be is a member of the Gantimpala Theater Foundation in Manila. He works as a production designer and art director at GMA7. He was assisted my Mr. Louie Arapan from MCC.

  1. It’s actually Gantimpala Theater Foundation. I’m the House Manager and a Senior performer of the company. The pics i’ve seen are very distinct of the company’s level-levelan na tableaux. Very nice to hear that the company’s name reached Baler. I hope the kids learned a lot.

  2. Im glad that something worth while is being done with the youth of Dipaculao vis-a-vis FJKMHS, and with Jimmy, the principal. God bless them all. More power to all, esp the students of Fr. Karash. Regards to Fr. Andy of Dipaculao

  3. I was very elated to see these pictures of young men and women of Father John Karash MHS getting involved in a very worthwhile and productive activity. I am an alumnus of FJKMHS, Class ’77. We didn’t have that opportunity during our days and so am greatly amused that so much has changed and improved in my once sleepy hometown. Congratulations to the school Principal for his efforts and concern for the young of Dipaculao. (Regards to my high school classmates there, Dr. Arturo Parilla, Dr. Aurora Espanol, Emmie Rebueno??, Eng. Roseller Tolentino, Darlito Gromeo and the rest). – Josefino B. Velasco (Doha, Qatar)

  4. Congratulation to all the young performers of Father John Karash. It’s nice to see all this young adults involved in a promising future. Filipinos are great entertainers, what can i say. More power to all the students of Fr John Karash. I attend Father John Karash in the late 70’s, as in fact 11 Veluz’s attend this awesome school. And regards to all my classmate.
