This is another “better late than never” photoset. The celebration of San Luis, Aurora’s foundation day, or “fiesta” happens every August 24-25, one week after Baler Fiesta. They have an annual Sabutan Festival there. Unlike in Baler where the sabutan shares center stage with the coconut every fiesta, the spotlight is on the sabutan alone in San Luis. For those not familiar with sabutan, it is a variety of palm where the leaves are used to weave different products like hats, bags and mats. It’s one source of income of San Luis residents. These pictures were provided by the Provincial Tourism Office. Special shoutout to Macmac for the pics.
