This just happened a few hours ago. Pictures taken from Sabang Beach, about 3 kilometers away from the Baler Fish Port. I went to the beach a few minutes before 8 and found lots of people at Labasin waiting for the show. I started unpacking my gears a few meters away from the crowd and before I could snap the camera to the tripod and check on the settings the fireworks started, so I started shooting away hoping I would get a couple of good shots. Then it started raining so I packed my gears and went home. I got 1% success rate on the photos.
The celebrations of the 108 Anniversary of the Siege of Baler aka the 5th Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day will commence tonight with a thanksgiving mass, welcome dinner and fireworks display at the Baler Fish Port, Brgy. Zabali, Baler, Aurora. The main celebration will be tomorrow starting with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Baler Church and a program in front of Museo De Baler. Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker will be His Excellency Luis Arias, the Ambassador of Spain to the Philippines.
Best place to see the fireworks tonight would be at Sabang Beach. Let’s hope the weather will cooperate as it is raining here in Baler as I write this post.
Tomorrow is also the Joint Oath-Taking Ceremonies of the Provincial and Municipal Elected Officials of Aurora. It will be held at the Provincial Capitol Compound at 10:00 am.
This is from Manila Bulletin as reported by Ariel Avendaño:
Central Luzon Environment and Natural Resources Director Regidor de Leon announced the other day that logging operations in this province will be totally stopped in the next five years.
