ILLEGAL loggers, armed with high-powered firearms and chainsaws with “silencers,” have reportedly invaded the supposedly restricted 5,676-hectare Aurora Memorial National Park, a report shown to the BusinessMirror said.
Aurora board member Mariano Tangson lamented during the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) session this week that the heavily armed illegal loggers had outwitted the National Police and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as they continue to stay and cut trees in that park for a long time now.

I strongly against those illegal loggers who kept cutting our trees. They should go to jail. They were responsible for the death of our kababayans who died from landslide. It is the responsibility of our local goverment and police to stop them. It does not matter if they were heavily arms. The people of Aurora should rally against them to protect our province and the next generation of Aurorans. I was born there, that’s why I care. I hope someday, I can help my provincemates after years of living abroad. Thanks a lot for the news and pictures. Those pictures reminded me of my simple childhood life. Coming soon to visit Aurora after 24 years.
