At 3:00 am on September 9, Akaw Invasion 2 ended with a fitting finale, a live performance of Kapatid ni Amy by an all Akaw ensemble. Of course most of the kids were already drunk or drowsy by that time but they still managed to do a 10-minute rendition of the song. Watch:

The performers were: Kangker Palispis (Orgasm Addicts) and Aries Amarillo (of the late great Bhonog Fever), Diego (Blue Island) and Bhoyet De Guzman (Pentavia, Ina ni Basilio, and the late great Enslave band) on drums, Mark Valenzuela (Blue Island, Kwak Kwak) on bass, and Pong De Guzman (Blue Island, Ina ni Basilio), Jad Doringo (Kwak Kwak, Libris Arcana), Reno Tolentino (Arkanum, Enslave), Luthgard Ong (Enslave), Udi Querijero (Kwak Kwak, Libris Arcana) and Omac Kuizon (Sandlady) on guitars.
For the record, these are the peeps who recorded Kapatid ni Amy 2007: Kangker (vocals), Jad Doringo (drums and guitars), Pong De Guzman (bass and guitars), Ian Aquino (backup vocals) and Geek (additional guitars) Recorded and mixed by Geek at his home studio. Geek or Cris is the vocalist/guitarist of Orgasm Addicts who looks very much like Uka of Blue Island. The original song was composed by Eric Friginal back in 1995.
The pictures are up. For our first installment – the bands. There were 11 bands in the lineup but only 9 showed up to perform. Enslave and Y Tazaranda? bailed out before the ship sailed. The finale is a 10 minute sing-along of the song that crashed the batangbaler server last month, Kapatid ni Amy (5,000 plays and downloads so far from this site and played more than 2000 times on imeem.com). It was a rock and roll equivalent of a 1000-meter relay with more than 10 akaw ‘rockistas’ exchanging mics, guitars and drum sticks. It was all captured on video and will be uploaded soon.

Ang official theme song ng Akaw Invasion 2 ay ang kantang Kapatid ni Amy 2007.
Ang kantang ito na tungkol sa isang taga-Baler na walang problema sa buhay buhay ay mahigit sampung taon na simula ng ma-compose. Dating pinapatugtog ang “raw” recording nito sa programang Tunog Akaw ni DJ Eric sa DZJO FM nuong early nineties. Muling nagkabuhay ang kanta nang i-remake ng Bhonog Fever, isang banda sa Maynila na ang mga miyembro ay tiga Baler at San Luis. Regular na tumutugtog ang Bhonog Fever noon sa Freedom Bar sa Anonas at sa Music Museum sa Greenhills. Ngayon ay muling binuhay ang Kapatid ni Amy bilang anthem ng Akaw Invasion 2. Ang mga tumugtog ay nahihiya pang magpakilala. Manood na lang kayo sa September 8 para makita nyo sila.
